JOB REQUIREMENTS

The IT Help Desk Technician role will work in parallel with his/her peers providing front-line remote support of end-users on hardware, software, operating systems, networking, telecommunications, and data problems. 

The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide superior support and service to a wide range of internal, vendor, and external contacts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install and configure software and hardware
  • Assist Institute standard documentation and resolution procedures
  • Evaluate customer satisfaction levels
  • Make recommendations to senior management for improvement to the workflow based on experience and personal observations
  • Aptitude to prioritize work and maintain a high level of professionalism when under pressure.
  • Support of iPhone, Android, and other Smart Phones Field incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and e-mail in a courteous manner.
  • Record, track, and document the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and any hardware or software asset actions taken, through to final resolution.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, and configuring systems and applications.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Solid background working with PC hardware and software with an emphasis on Microsoft environments.
  • Experience with Terminal Server End User support.
  • Experience with Citrix, pharm’s, studio, and director.
  • Troubleshooting experience of Microsoft Office 2003-2016 required Knowledge of basic computer hardware, including Desktops, Notebooks, Apple Hardware and various other PC related hardware.
  • Experience with desktop and server operating systems, Win10, MAC OS, Server 2003-2016
  • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities such as MS Performance Monitor.
  • Experience with firewall setup, install, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with VSA RMM and Kaseya PSA a plus
  • Experience with security administration of user accounts and rights
  • Overall knowledge of all IT infrastructure components and how they interact
  • 4 year college degree with concentration in IT, Computer Science or Management, or equivalent experience (Preferred)
  • CompTia A+, Net+, and Security + (Preferred) 

COMPENSATION IF YOU DECIDE TO TRANSITION TO W2 EMPLOYEE

• $45,000 – $50,000 in year 1.
